Luno, a global crypto asset investment application, has appointed Iman Sudargo as its Country Head for Indonesia. The appointment, announced on Monday, positions Iman to lead the company’s business strategy with a focus on strengthening responsible literacy and adoption of crypto assets. The number of crypto asset customers in Indonesia reached more than 22 million as of May 2026.

“I am honoured to join Luno and lead the team in Indonesia. With the rapid development of the crypto asset ecosystem, Indonesia has tremendous potential in this industry,” Iman said. He committed to working with the entire team and stakeholders in Indonesia to drive responsible crypto asset adoption. “Together with the team, I will also maintain momentum so that customers can buy and invest in crypto assets safely and easily,” he added.

Latest data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) shows that the number of crypto asset customers in Indonesia reached more than 22 million as of May 2026, growing 3.17% compared to the previous month, with transaction values approaching Rp 122 trillion.

Aaron Tang, General Manager of Luno APAC, stated that Indonesia is one of Luno’s key growth markets in the Asia Pacific region, alongside Malaysia. “Iman will contribute his financial expertise and global perspective, which we need at this stage of development. As Country Head, Iman will steer our mission to modernise the financial system by serving underserved retail and institutional segments, while strengthening Luno’s position as a trusted and regulated platform,” Aaron said.

Prior to joining Luno Indonesia, Iman held several strategic positions at global financial institutions. His experience includes developing digital banking services, corporate banking, financial products, and peer-to-peer lending platforms. During his career, Iman was involved in launching one of Indonesia’s first digital banks and helped grow its user base to over one million. He also developed digital solutions for corporate banking and led the expansion of financial products into several global markets.

Iman stated that Luno’s future focus is not solely on user growth, but also on strengthening public understanding of crypto assets. “Going forward, we are focused on driving crypto asset adoption in Indonesia by maintaining transparency, helping customers better understand crypto assets, and sharing the latest insights and information,” he said. He added that developing the crypto asset ecosystem requires a broader approach than simply providing a digital asset trading facility. Luno aims to develop services that meet the needs of both retail and institutional investors. “Our vision goes far beyond just being a trading platform; we are building a comprehensive ecosystem that supports various needs, from institutional liquidity for large-scale transactions and stable digital assets for transactional needs, to bringing real-world value onto the blockchain,” Iman concluded.
