21 parking locations prepared for Independence Day celebrations

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Budi Awaluddin announced that the agency has prepared 21 parking locations around the Monas to Dukuh Atas area to support the series of activities for the 81st Independence Day celebrations.

These parking locations have a total capacity of 20,578 Satuan Ruang Parkir (SRP), consisting of 12,295 SRP for cars, 8,186 SRP for motorcycles, and 97 SRP for buses.

Despite the provision, Budi urged the public attending the celebrations to prioritise the use of public transport.

“With the availability of public transport services and parking locations, we hope the public can plan their journeys from the start. Please continue to pay attention to traffic management information and follow the instructions of officers so that the journey remains safe and comfortable,” Budi said in Jakarta on Friday.

Furthermore, he advised all road users, including long-distance train passengers boarding or alighting at Gambir Station, to adjust their travel times and routes, avoid roads undergoing traffic management if they have no business there, and obey traffic signs and directions from officers in the field.

The 21 parking locations are:

1. IRTI Monas Courtyard (capacity: 350 cars, 600 motorcycles, and 20 buses)

2. Lemhannas (capacity: 300 cars and 300 motorcycles)

3. National Library (capacity: 250 cars and 300 motorcycles)

4. Telkom STO Gambir Building (capacity: 25 cars and 50 motorcycles)

5. Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (capacity: 90 cars and 200 motorcycles)

6. Menara Dana Reksa (capacity: 500 cars and 200 motorcycles)

7. Indosat Building (capacity: 60 cars and 200 motorcycles)

8. Ministry of Tourism (capacity: 300 cars and 200 motorcycles)

9. Wisma Mandiri (capacity: 420 cars and 400 motorcycles)

10. TPE Sabang (capacity: 150 cars and 200 motorcycles)

11. Djakarta Theater (capacity: 350 cars and 478 motorcycles)

12. Sarinah Building (capacity: 333 cars and 200 motorcycles)

13. Plaza Indonesia (capacity: 1,831 cars and 28 buses)

14. Grand Indonesia (capacity: 4,347 cars, 1,450 motorcycles, and 25 buses)

15. Wisma Nusantara (capacity: 751 cars, 500 motorcycles, and 4 buses)

16. Mandarin Oriental Hotel (capacity: 148 cars and 4 buses)

17. The City Tower (capacity: 371 cars, 300 motorcycles, and 5 buses)

18. Taman Menteng (capacity: 150 cars and 250 motorcycles)
