The Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) has confirmed that electric motorcycles will not be seized in connection with the alleged corruption case in the management of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) for 2025–2026. The electric motorcycles were among the items whose procurement prices were allegedly marked up by three suspects in the case: former BGN Head Dadan Hindayana and two former BGN Deputy Heads, Lodewyk Pusung and Sony Sonjaya. “If the goods have already reached the regions and are in use, we will certainly not carry out a seizure,” said the Director of Investigation at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, in Jakarta on Thursday. He stated that investigators would only take samples, while the rest could continue to be used by the Nutritional Service Fulfilment Units (SPPG). The three suspects allegedly marked up the procurement prices of several items at BGN, including 21,801 electric motorcycles with a total procurement value of IDR 1.035 trillion. The funds had been paid to PT YAT, which did not meet the requirements as a vendor because it lacked an active dealership or workshop, and a mark-up was applied. The price inflation caused waste and state financial losses. The suspects have been charged under Article 603 in conjunction with Article 20 letter a or c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption. They are being detained for 20 days starting Wednesday at the Salemba Detention Centre branches of the Attorney General’s Office and the South Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office.
