2029 Elections: Surya Paloh Says Garda Pemuda Are NasDem's Eyes and Ears

NasDem Party Chairman Surya Paloh has instructed the Garda Pemuda NasDem (GPND) to serve as the party’s frontline eyes and ears in navigating the political dynamics leading up to the 2029 General Election. The expectation was conveyed by Surya during the closing ceremony of the Second Congress and the 15th Anniversary of GPND in North Jakarta, Wednesday (22/7/2026).

“This is where I place my hope as Chairman of the NasDem Party. Garda Pemuda must truly prepare themselves, consolidate totally. Be on the front line, the eyes and ears of the NasDem Party are the Garda Pemuda themselves,” said Surya Paloh in his briefing.

Surya stressed the importance of young cadres’ readiness in facing the ebb and flow of politics. According to him, challenges can come from various directions, both internal and external to the party. He assessed that the younger generation’s ability to read opportunities and fill leadership spaces will determine Indonesia’s future.

Furthermore, Surya reminded that tests and trials are a reality in the political struggle. “Indonesia’s future depends heavily on the ability of young people to seize that future themselves,” he asserted before the cadres.

Through total consolidation at the youth level, Surya is optimistic that the NasDem Party can record a significant surge in vote share in the upcoming 2029 General Election. He asked all GPND members not to be deterred and to continue to uphold the commitment to national restoration.

“Keep moving forward with conviction and certainty. Glory to Garda Pemuda. Believe and trust, where there is a will, there is a way,” concluded Surya, closing his briefing.
