Minister for Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Perkasa Roeslani has announced that the government is targeting investment realisation of Rp 2,322 trillion in 2027. The target represents a 13.76% increase compared with the 2026 investment target of Rp 2,041 trillion and is expected to further strengthen economic growth and job creation.

Rosan said investment has become one of the main pillars of Indonesia’s economic growth. In the second quarter of 2026, the Indonesian economy grew by 5.29% year on year, with investment contributing around 39% to economic growth during that period. This contribution is above the normal range for investment contribution, which is generally around 28-29%.

In accordance with the 2027 Government Work Plan, the Rp 2,322 trillion investment target is part of an investment goal of around Rp 13,032 trillion for the 2025-2029 period. The five-year investment target represents an increase of around 143% compared with investment achievement over the past 10 years.

Meanwhile, investment realisation in the first half of 2026 reached approximately Rp 1,010.6 trillion, growing 7.2% compared with the same period the previous year. This investment realisation absorbed around 1.45 million direct workers, an increase of 15%. The figure does not yet include indirect job creation or other supporting activities arising from investment activities.

Rosan stressed that increasing investment and economic growth is not merely about chasing figures. Investment must have a real impact on public welfare, especially through the creation of quality jobs. Every rupiah of investment must create good, quality jobs while also improving the quality of life of the community.
