Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani has revealed that the government is targeting investment realisation of Rp 2,322 trillion in 2027. This target is higher than the 2026 figure of Rp 2,041 trillion and is expected to further drive economic growth and job creation.

In the second quarter of 2026, the Indonesian economy grew by 5.29% year on year (YoY). Investment was one of the main pillars of growth, contributing around 39% to economic growth during that period. This figure is above the normal range for investment contribution, which typically stands at around 28%-29%.

“Economic growth in the second quarter of 2026 was 5.29%, with investment contributing approximately 39% of total growth in Q2 2026,” Rosan said at a press conference at the Directorate General of Taxes office of the Ministry of Finance on Friday (14/8/2026).

In line with the government’s work plan for 2027, the investment target of Rp 2,322 trillion is part of an investment goal of approximately Rp 13,032 trillion for the 2025-2029 period. This five-year target represents an increase of around 143% compared with investment achievements over the past 10 years.

Meanwhile, investment realisation in the first half of 2026 reached approximately Rp 1,010.6 trillion, growing by 7.2%. This investment absorbed around 1.45 million direct workers, an increase of 15%.

This figure does not yet include indirect job creation or other supporting activities arising from investment activities.

Rosan stressed that increasing investment and economic growth is not merely about chasing numbers. Investment is expected to have a tangible impact on public welfare, particularly through the creation of quality jobs.

“Every rupiah of investment must create good, quality jobs while also improving the quality of life of our people,” Rosan asserted.
