2027 Hajj Schedule Released; Pilgrim Data Should Be Announced Soon
JAKARTA — The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, through its Directorate General of Hajj Services, has published the provisional schedule for the 1448 AH/2027 Hajj. Pilgrims are scheduled to begin entering Hajj dormitories on 10 April 2027, while Hajj operations are due to end on 20 June 2027.
The schedule was released well in advance, around eight months before the stand at Arafat, the culmination of the Hajj, on 15 May 2027.
Mustolih Siradj, a Hajj observer from the National Commission for Hajj and Umrah, welcomed the ministry’s decision to set out the 1448 AH/2027 schedule so early. He said certainty over the dates was a positive step, allowing pilgrims, their families, officials and all other stakeholders involved in the Hajj, both in Indonesia and overseas, more time to prepare.
“For prospective pilgrims, setting the schedule early gives them more scope to prepare financially, particularly to pay off the Hajj Travel Costs (Bipih), in a more planned and measured way, without rushing,” Mustolih told Republika on Friday (23 October 2026).
He said knowing the dates also helped pilgrims organise personal, work and family needs before departure.
In his view, the longer preparation period should be used optimally to meet istitaah, or the required level of health and physical fitness. Health is a key condition for pilgrims, given Saudi Arabia’s requirement that Hajj participants be confirmed as healthy and fit.
