2026 Traffic Compliance Operation to Prioritise a Humane and Educational Approach
Indonesia’s National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) is prioritising a humane, educational and persuasive approach in its 2026 Traffic Compliance Operation.
The initiative aims to raise public awareness and encourage greater discipline and compliance with traffic rules. The operation is running from 26 October to 8 November 2026.
Korlantas Polri Operations Bureau chief Commissioner Turmudi stressed the importance of issuing warnings and reminders to the public in a sympathetic manner during the operation.
“Prioritise a humane, educational and persuasive approach through sympathetic warnings and reminders to the public,” Turmudi said.
He said the operation was not focused solely on law enforcement, but also served as a way to help the public understand the importance of road safety.
With a humane approach, officers are expected to educate motorists directly about the risks of traffic violations and the importance of following the rules for everyone’s safety.
Korlantas Polri hopes the approach will encourage changes in public behaviour, so that compliance with traffic rules comes from personal awareness rather than simply fear of penalties.
Through the 2026 Traffic Compliance Operation, Korlantas Polri is urging all road users to prioritise safety, respect one another and make orderly traffic behaviour part of their daily routine.
