A total of 22 villages in Klungkung Regency are set to hold the 2026 Simultaneous Village Head Elections (Pilkel). The polling day for the Klungkung 2026 Simultaneous Elections is scheduled for 18 October.

The Klungkung Regency Government is also preparing a special polling station (TPS) at the Klungking Class IIB Detention Centre (Rutan). This special station is intended to facilitate the voting rights of village residents currently serving sentences at the Klungkung detention centre.

“Today, we coordinated once again with the detention centre authorities to ensure the readiness of the special polling station for residents undergoing rehabilitation,” said the Head of the Klungkung Department of Community Empowerment, Population Control, and Family Planning (PMDP2KB), Ida Bagus Ketut Mas Ananda, when met at the Klungkung Detention Centre on Thursday (1/10/2026).

“Regarding the TPS preparations, everyone has been recorded. Out of the total 22 villages participating in the Simultaneous Elections, there are 15 inmates from 11 villages whom we will facilitate at this special TPS in the Klungkung Detention Centre,” he added.

Ananda stated that his department continues to conduct intensive coordination to ensure the readiness of logistics, socialisation, and technical guidance. He noted that the Klungkung Regency Government is ensuring voter data is continuously validated to prevent administrative errors.

“So far, the existing data is valid. The detention centre authorities are also willing to assist with the process, ranging from the socialisation stages to other technical preparations,” Ananda explained.

Ananda continued, stating that the Klungkung Regency Government is committed to guaranteeing the constitutional rights of every citizen so they can still use their right to vote even while in detention during the 2026 Simultaneous Elections. “We will ensure that their right to elect village leaders is not unfulfilled,” Ananda concluded.

The Head of the Klungkung Class IIB Detention Centre, Surya Widjaya, welcomed the preparations for the special polling station by the Klungkung Regency Government. “We are ready to facilitate all needs and assist in the success of the 2026 Simultaneous Elections in Klungkung Regency,” he said.
