2026 Retail Government Bonds Aim to Attract Small Investors

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA—The initial sale of retail government bonds (SBN) this year has fallen short of expectations. Low interest rates and declining interest among the middle class have become issues affecting absorption.

ORI029 is the opening offering of retail government bonds (SBN) in 2026, with an offering period of 26th January to 19th February. The two series offered are ORI029T3 (3-year tenor) at 5.45% and ORI029T6 (6-year tenor) at 5.80%. Total sales of both series reached IDR 14.4 trillion, only 57.9% of the IDR 25 trillion target.

In terms of age groups, millennials (1980—2000) contributed 46.82% to ORI029 sales, followed by Generation X (1965—1979) at 31.93%, and baby boomers (1946—1964) at 14.40%.
