Dompu (ANTARA) – Indonesia’s 2026 Presidential Instruction for Regional Roads (IJD) programme is targeting two county roads in Dompu Regency, West Nusa Tenggara: the Kempo-Sambi road in Kempo District and the Bolonduru-Amalahabe road in Woja District.

Dompu Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency head Suparman said the two road projects were currently in the tender process through the relevant ministry.

“Both roads included in the IJD programme are being put out to tender and are targeted for work this year, in 2026,” he said when contacted in Dompu on Tuesday.

He explained that the tender process was being conducted by the central government through the National Roads Agency. The Dompu Regency Government is monitoring the process to ensure that work on both roads can go ahead as scheduled in 2026.

The IJD programme is a central government initiative to support repairs to regional roads that need improvement, with the aim of strengthening connectivity and supporting public mobility.

According to Suparman, work on the two roads is needed to facilitate residents’ activities, including the movement of people and the distribution of goods.

In addition to monitoring the 2026 IJD projects, the Dompu Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency has proposed several county roads for support in 2027.

The proposals will be pursued through the IJD programme or other central government funding schemes. The roads proposed include Saleko-Saneo, Saka-Rasanggaro and Ta’a-Nciu.

The Dompu Regency Government has also proposed the O’o-Lepadi road for work under the IJD programme.

“We have put forward the O’o-Lepadi road for the IJD programme,” Suparman said.

Separately, the Dompu Regency Government carried out maintenance in 2026 on two county roads: Simpang Cakre-Mbawi and O’o-Karamabura.

Suparman said the maintenance had improved the condition of both roads and was expected to help residents go about their activities more easily.

“We addressed them through the maintenance programme. Thankfully, both roads are now in good condition,” he said.

The Dompu Regency Government is continuing to seek central government funding to expand improvements to county roads gradually, in line with needs and available budgets.

Through the IJD programme and road maintenance, the local government hopes to improve connectivity between areas, enabling smoother movement of people and distribution of goods.
