2026 Pancasila Birth Anniversary: Southeast Sulawesi Deputy Governor Hugua Urges Public to Uphold National Harmony

Southeast Sulawesi Deputy Governor Hugua has called on all community elements to uphold national harmony and implement Pancasila values in daily life. Speaking at the 2026 Pancasila Birth Anniversary ceremony held at the Governor’s Office grounds on Monday, 1 June 2026, Hugua emphasised that the commemoration is not merely a ceremonial event but a crucial moment to reflect on the nation’s ideological commitment amid contemporary challenges.

The solemn ceremony was attended by the Forum Koordinasi Pimpinan Daerah (Forkopimda), vertical institution heads, civil servants, TNI-Polri personnel, students, and various community groups. Hugua stated that Pancasila has proven to be a unifying force for Indonesia’s diverse ethnicities, religions, cultures, and languages. He highlighted its relevance as a moral compass amid rapid technological advancements, shifting geopolitics, and threats of division.

‘Beyond annual ceremonies, today is a moment to ensure the spirit of Pancasila remains alive in every Indonesian,’ he said. Hugua added that Pancasila’s noble values not only guide national life but also underpin Indonesia’s contributions to global peace, such as peacekeeping missions and conflict mediation. He urged all government officials to enact policies rooted in social justice, ensuring no citizen is left behind, and to combat intolerance and radicalism.
