2026 Outstanding Regional Government Awards Drive Continuous Local Innovation
Strengthening public services is a key component of the 2026 Outstanding Regional Government Awards (Batch II) for the Sulawesi region. The event is organised by detikcom in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The awards recognise local governments with the best performance across various sectors, ranging from waste management and environmental preservation to improving access and quality of healthcare, expanding educational access, and the implementation of the 3 Million Houses Programme.
However, these awards are not merely intended to honour regions that have achieved significant milestones. Beyond recognition, the event is expected to serve as motivation for local governments to continue developing, improving performance, and introducing innovations that provide tangible benefits to the community.
The Indonesian Minister of Home Affairs, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, stated that the appreciation for local governments also serves as a platform to showcase various best practices that have been implemented.
“This activity can also serve as a means to motivate regions to continuously improve performance while showcasing various best practices that have been carried out,” said Tito, as reported by Antara on Friday (4/9/2026).
Previously, similar events were held in various cities, such as Batam (Sumatra Region), Bali (Java and Bali Region), and Pontianak (Kalimantan Region). Through these awards, local governments are expected to be further encouraged to introduce innovations, strengthen collaboration, and produce real impacts for the public.
The 2026 Outstanding Regional Government Awards (Batch II) for the Sulawesi region are expected to drive local governments to continue innovating, improving the quality of public services, and delivering breakthroughs that benefit society.
Furthermore, the awards are intended to stimulate positive competition between regions in delivering increasingly better government performance. The 2026 Outstanding Regional Government Awards (Batch II) for the Sulawesi region is scheduled to take place today at 19:00 WITA.
