2026 Merah Putih Festival in Bogor to Feature 17 Activities Throughout August
The Merah Putih Festival (FMP) 2026 in Bogor, West Java, will feature a series of 17 activities throughout August to strengthen national spirit while simultaneously driving the local economy and the tourism sector.
Speaking in Bogor on Saturday, Mayor Dedie A. Rachim stated that the festival serves as a momentum to strengthen brotherhood amidst the diversity of Bogor’s society. “This is our celebration as the highly cohesive citizens of Bogor. Development is not just about infrastructure, but also about developing the people of Bogor, grounded in a sense of friendship, kinship, and mutual love and belonging,” said Dedie.
He expressed hope that the conditions in Bogor remain safe, orderly, and conducive throughout the series of events. As part of the festival, approximately 5,000 Indonesian flags and banners will be installed at various points across Bogor City. The Bogor City Government also urged the public to participate by displaying flags and banners in their respective neighbourhoods.
Furthermore, the raising and lowering of the Indonesian flag will take place daily at 07:00 WIB and 17:00 WIB at Tugu Kujang throughout August. Key agendas include the Merah Putih parade involving thousands of residents, a Legendary Coffee Festival, MSME empowerment activities, and the development of the people’s economy, alongside various nationalistic and educational activities designed to stimulate the local economy and enhance Bogor’s tourism potential.
According to Syahril, the FMP is a collective effort to reinforce the values of nationalism, patriotism, and unity, while providing tangible benefits to the community through the various activities held throughout August.
