PT Daya Intiglam Yasa Tbk, known as MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia (MDIY), has officially opened its 1,400th store in Indonesia, coinciding with the National Customer Day celebrations on 4 September. This move further strengthens its position as the largest household goods retailer in the country.

President Director of MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia, Edwin Cheah, stated that the presence of MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia across 1,400 locations aligns with the Company’s commitment to being closer to customers throughout the archipelago.

“As a company that prioritises a customer-centric approach, we use customer needs as our compass in executing our growth strategy. National Customer Day serves as the perfect momentum to continue proving that customers are always at the heart of every growth step for MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia,” he said in a written statement on Thursday (3/9/2026).

This customer-centric principle is not only realised through in-store service but also serves as the foundation for expanding the network. The presence in 1,400 locations reflects the Company’s commitment to growing alongside customers and providing affordable and complete products closer to families across Indonesia.

2026 Network Expansion Remains on Target

Reaching 1,400 stores confirms the Company’s consistency in executing its 2026 expansion plan according to target. This year, the Company aims to open at least 270 new stores.

As of August 2026, the MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia network has opened 177 new stores, reaching 445 out of 514 cities and regencies across 37 of 38 provinces, including tier 3 areas such as South Sorong Regency and Central Buton Regency. Throughout July and August 2026, a total of 27 newly opened stores were located outside of Java.

Several new stores recorded sales far above initial targets during their first month of operation, demonstrating the strong reliability of MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia for Indonesian customers.

Of the entire network, 80% are standalone stores, while the remainder are mall-based stores. Through this expanding network, MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia provides more customers with access to approximately 18,000 daily necessity product options, driven by its commitment to being ‘Always Low Prices, Always Complete, Always Near’.

Understanding Customers, Providing Attractive and Relevant Offers

To celebrate National Customer Day, the Company also introduced a special curated product programme featuring highly ‘worth it’ items with savings of up to 52%. More than 800 products were selected based on various customer needs and personas, including home organisation, school and creativity, sports, hobbies and gaming, tools and holidays, as well as fashion and accessories.

This curation makes it easier for customers to find products that suit their daily needs while maintaining the principles of affordability and value for money.

“MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia makes customer needs the primary consideration in determining product curation and developing the shopping experience. We continue to deepen our analysis of purchasing patterns, product turnover rates, and changes in demand to understand customer needs in various regions,” said Edwin.

In addition to maintaining the relevance of product choices, MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia continues to invest in employee training and competency development, including product knowledge and interpersonal skills, to maintain consistent service standards across all 1,400 stores.

“Moving forward, MR.D.I.Y. Indonesia will continue to be closer to Indonesian families, with a commitment to providing affordable and complete products in every new store,” concluded Edwin.
