2026 Eid Outfit Trends: Modified Abayas and Earth Tones Dominate

As preparations for Eid al-Fitr 2026/1447 H begin, modest fashion trends in Indonesia are starting to show interesting shifts. If in previous years floral-patterned dresses dominated, the 2026 Eid outfit trend is predicted to emphasize elegant minimalism through the use of abayas and earthy color palettes.

Abayas, the typical loose-fitting garments from the Middle East, are now transforming into more flexible fashion statements in the 2026 Eid outfit trend. According to the CEO of Scarf Media and designer, Temi Sumalin, this year’s abayas are no longer monotonous. Modifications are made through printing techniques, the use of lace material, to plain designs that highlight the quality of the material.

One of the reasons why abayas are becoming a favorite is their flexibility. This outfit not only functions as the main garment but can also be used as an outer layer. You can pair it with palazzo pants or pleated skirts to create a long and modern silhouette without sacrificing a modest look.

“Abayas are also being modified in many ways, some are plain, some are printed, and some have lace. This is one of the interesting trends to watch because it has a cultural touch,” said Temi Sumalin in a press conference in Jakarta.

Turning to color, the Quiet Luxury trend seems to still influence people’s choices and become the 2026 Eid outfit trend. Earth tones are predicted to dominate the 2026 Eid fashion scene. Some of the key colors to watch out for include:

The Head of Marketing, Promotion and Group Activities at Sarinah, Elsa Dewi, added that these earthy colors look great when combined with bright colors. Elsa gave an example of combining brown with pink can create a neat, modern look while still having a strong cultural accent.

To complete the look, hijab trends are also undergoing significant changes. If last year the market was dominated by floral motifs, in Eid 2026, pashmina hijabs with abstract motifs are expected to be more popular. This motif is considered to give a more artistic impression and is perfect for pairing with minimalist abaya outfits.
