2026 Eid Homecoming Traffic to Determine Bluebird's Business Surge

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The 2026 Eid homecoming traffic is projected to be a crucial phase that will drive a surge in demand for the transportation services of PT Blue Bird Tbk (BIRD), as community mobility patterns are changing and becoming more concentrated before and after the holiday.

This change in travel patterns has prompted the company to strengthen its fleet and service readiness during the period, which is considered the peak of annual community movement.

Chief Marketing Officer of PT Blue Bird Tbk, Monita Moerdani, said that mobility trends during the Eid season show a shift in travel times that are becoming more concentrated.

“We see a pattern of travel that is increasingly concentrated before and after Eid,” said Monita when met in South Jakarta, Thursday (February 26, 2026).

Therefore, the company ensures the readiness of more than 25,000 vehicles, including fleet rejuvenation for various services such as Bluebird, Silverbird, Goldenbird, Bigbird, Cititrans, and Bluebird Kirim.

Meanwhile, the Cititrans intercity shuttle service recorded an increase of almost 23 percent during the Eid period and homecoming traffic compared to the previous week.

Not only in passenger transportation, a surge also occurred in logistics services. Bluebird Kirim recorded an increase in transactions of up to 62 percent during Ramadan compared to the previous month, driven by increased demand for goods and Eid hampers.

Meanwhile, 51 percent of respondents plan to travel during the same period after Eid, making this period the phase with the highest mobility pressure in the year.

To anticipate this surge, Bluebird ensures operational readiness at more than 1,300 bases throughout Indonesia, including at airports, stations, terminals, shopping centers, hotels, and residential areas.
