Statistics Indonesia’s (BPS) West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Provincial Office has announced that the 2026 economic census across the province’s 10 regencies and cities will involve 5,210 enumerators, working for two months until August 2026.

BPS NTB Chief Wahyudin stated in Mataram on Sunday that these enumerators will conduct direct data collection from households and businesses in their respective areas. He emphasised the strategic role of enumerators as the frontline in ensuring comprehensive and accurate recording of all community economic activities.

Therefore, BPS requires enumerators who not only possess strong capabilities but also understand their operational areas and are prepared to carry out data collection duties professionally. Currently, BPS is conducting additional recruitment through the same process to bolster the availability of statistical personnel for various data collection activities. However, not all candidates who pass the additional recruitment will be assigned to the 2026 economic census. The census requires exactly 5,210 enumerators, while the additional recruitment aims to build a pool of qualified candidates for future statistical activities as needed. ‘Qualified candidates may be considered to support other statistical activities on the ground as required,’ he said.
