2026 Dry Season Peak Forecast for July to September Across Indonesia

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the peak of the 2026 dry season will generally occur in July, August, and September 2026. The peak is forecasted across 12.26 per cent of Indonesia’s land area in July 2026, expanding significantly to 48.84 per cent in August 2026, and covering 25.41 per cent in September 2026. Head of BMKG Teuku Faisal Fathani, accompanied by Deputy for Climatology Ardhasena Sopaheluwakan and Acting Deputy for Meteorology Andri Ramdhani, provided an update on climate developments and the revised dry season prediction during a press briefing at the BMKG headquarters in Jakarta.
