JAKARTA: President Megawati Soekarnoputri is scheduled to be the keynote speaker during the first part of the 2002 International Seminar Series from April 25 through April 26 in Jakarta.

The organizing committee said in a statement on Monday that besides Megawati, former Australian prime minister Paul Keating was also due to speak at the seminar, which is aimed at improving Indonesia's country risk rating.

An improvement in the country's risk rating would in turn help revive the real and the services sector, thereby creating more job opportunities.

No details as to what the contents of Megawati's speech would be were available, while Paul Keating is due to speak on regional economic integration, and the future and role of Indonesia in both the world economic order and foreign affairs.

Representatives of international institutions, including Moody's Investor Service of the U.S. and the World Market Research Center of England, have also agreed to take part, according to the statement.

The seminar will also be attended by guests from the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, foreign embassies, and foreign and local businesspeople. -- Antara
