200,000 welcome victorious team

DHAKA (AFP): About 200,000 people packed central Dhaka
yesterday to welcome the Bangladesh cricket team that produced
the country's greatest sporting moment by winning the ICC Trophy.

Police battled to stop crowds breaking through a security
cordon to get to a special bus taking the team to the main Manik
Mia Avenue where the ceremony was broadcast live by national
television.

A special stage was put up for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina
Wajed to welcome the players who beat Kenya in the ICC Trophy
final in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
