200 Participants Attend Agricultural Product Processing Training in East Jakarta
Jakarta (ANTARA) - A total of 200 participants attended a training session on the diversification of processed agricultural products, organised by the East Jakarta Food Security, Marine, and Agriculture Office (KPKP).
“Today, we are holding training on the diversification of processed agricultural products, attended by 200 people from 10 sub-districts across the East Jakarta area, representing various groups,” said the Head of the East Jakarta KPKP, Taufik Yulianto, at the Training Centre on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, on Monday.
Taufik stated that the training aims to introduce various forms of agricultural processing to the residents of East Jakarta. The programme is also designed to increase the added value of agricultural products, presenting them as business opportunities to boost the local economy.
“Through this training, the community can learn about various ways to process agricultural yields. Thus, we can enhance the motivation and creativity of the community regarding agricultural processing,” Taufik added.
Taufik explained that participants received both theoretical material and practical instruction on processing several agricultural commodities, including potatoes, corn, and broccoli. These three commodities can be processed into various food products to establish small businesses.
Some of the products practised during the activity included melted corn ice, potato cheese balls, and broccoli corn cheese pie.
“Our participants are diverse, ranging from Jakpreneur beneficiaries and residents who already run their own businesses in East Jakarta to the general public,” said Taufik.
Taufik noted that the attendees also received assistance in the form of kitchen equipment, specifically choppers, to support their production activities. “The participants were provided with choppers intended to assist their business production,” Taufik said.
The training took place over two days, on 21-22 September 2026, at the TC Klender, East Jakarta. It is hoped that this training will provide the community with innovations for processing agricultural products that are healthy, nutritious, and high in value.
