20 Land Assets and Villa Belonging to Eddy Tansil Also Confiscated for the State
The Asset Recovery Agency of the Attorney General’s Office (BPA Kejagung) has handed over assets belonging to convicted criminal Eddy Tansil to the state. The assets surrendered include cash totalling Rp 51.6 billion, 20 plots of land, a villa, and a factory. The handover took place during the BPA Fair 2026 Auction Results Submission event at the BPA building on Monday (15/6/2026). The event was attended by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, LPSK Chairman Achmadi, and other high-ranking officials. On this occasion, we can also report that the Asset Recovery Centre successfully traced assets under the name of convicted criminal Eddy Tansil in the form of cash amounting to Rp 51,682,537,000, said Head of the Indonesian BPA, Kuntadi. Eddy Tansil’s assets were obtained through intensive negotiations with a bank. Eddy is a convicted criminal for embezzling USD 565 million through Bank Bapindo credit, a case for which he was sentenced in 1994. Eddy himself was sentenced to 20 years in prison and a fine of Rp 30 million. He was also ordered to pay restitution of Rp 500 billion and compensate the state for losses of Rp 1.3 trillion. In 1999, Bank Bapindo merged with three other banks to become a state-owned bank. Returning to the asset recovery, the Attorney General’s Office stated that the bank agreed to surrender Eddy Tansil’s assets which were previously under their control. The total value of Eddy Tansil’s recovered assets amounts to Rp 82,680,537,548. The details are as follows: Cash totalling Rp 51,682,537,548; one plot of land measuring 1,550 square metres with four villa buildings on it in Megamendung Village, Bogor Regency, West Java; one plot of land measuring 26,403 square metres and the PT Rimba Subur Sejahtera factory building (former Becks Beer factory) on it in Tlajung Udik, Gunung Putri District, Bogor Regency, West Java; and 18 vacant plots of land in Argawana Village, Bojonegoro District, Serang Regency, Banten, acquired since 2025. The Attorney General’s Office estimates the value of the land and building assets to reach approximately Rp 30,998,000,000. In addition to Eddy’s assets, the office also handed over proceeds from the auction of confiscated assets during the BPA Fair. Of the total auction proceeds, Rp 19,124,065,000 represented confiscated funds returned directly to crime victims. Meanwhile, Rp 978,191,839,080 was deposited as Non-Tax State Revenue to the Ministry of Finance.
