20 firefighters extinguish house fire near Pinang Ranti Terminal
Twenty firefighters from East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-Division (Sudin Gulkarmat) were deployed to extinguish a fire at a house on Asem Nirbaya Street near Pinang Ranti Terminal in Pinang Ranti Village, Makassar District.
‘Four fire trucks and 20 firefighters were deployed to prevent the flames from spreading to surrounding structures,’ said Abdul Wahid, Head of Operations Section for East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-Division, on Monday.
He stated that the fire report was received by officers at 3:15pm WIB via the Jakarta Siaga 112 emergency service.
‘The fire affected a low-rise residential house,’ Abdul said.
After receiving the report, officers from the Pinang Ranti post immediately headed to the scene. Fire units arrived at 3:29pm WIB and began suppression operations one minute later at 3:30pm WIB.
During firefighting operations, the fire was classified as ‘red’ status, meaning it was still being managed. Officers worked to extinguish the flames and contain the blaze to prevent it from spreading to nearby residential areas.
As of publication, officers were still conducting firefighting and cooling operations at the scene. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown.
Additionally, East Jakarta Fire and Rescue has not received any reports of casualties or injuries from the incident.
Abdul urged residents to remain vigilant against fire risks, particularly in densely populated residential areas.
Residents were also advised to report any fire incidents immediately via emergency services for prompt response.
