JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Traffic flow during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return period has been monitored as proceeding under control. As the peak return period concludes, vehicle volumes on several Trans-Java toll road sections have begun to ease.

PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, along with the Ministry of Transportation and the National Police Traffic Corps, stated that this situation is inseparable from intensive coordination among stakeholders in managing the surge in vehicles during the Eid period.

This was directly conveyed by Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, National Police Traffic Corps Chief Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho, and Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A. Purwantono at the Jasamarga Tollroad Command Centre (JMTC).

The number equates to 86% of the total projected vehicles expected to enter the Jabotabek region.

“We will still account for traffic until 06:00 WIB. However, we note that the average volume per capacity ratio (VC Ratio) on several main Trans-Java toll road sections is under control. The VC Ratio on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road is recorded at 0.3, Palikanci Toll Road at 0.28, Cipali Toll Road at 0.22, and Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road at 0.36. Based on these parameters, the return traffic flow has eased since KM 414 Kalikangkung Toll Gate to KM 70 Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road towards Jakarta,” said Rivan in an official statement on Monday (30/3/2026).

Meanwhile, National Police Traffic Corps Chief Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho explained that his side is still implementing several traffic engineering measures to anticipate vehicle surges until late at night.

“Until tonight, the contraflow and one-way local precision schemes are still in effect. Subsequently, we continue to monitor based on evaluations and VC Ratio; currently, traffic conditions are under control. For this reason, we have carried out sterilisation and socialisation to the public that the one-way implementation will officially end in the early hours of this Sunday (29/03) at 24:00 WIB, in accordance with the joint decision,” said Agus.

In agreement, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi stated that with increasingly controlled traffic conditions, the one-way local precision scheme is officially terminated, and vehicle flow is gradually returning to normal.

Jasa Marga also expressed appreciation to all parties involved in managing the 2026 Eid homecoming and return traffic, from the Ministry of Transportation and National Police Traffic Corps to field officers.

Going forward, Jasa Marga assures it will continue to enhance operational services to ensure toll road users’ journeys remain safe, comfortable, and secure until their destinations.
