The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI) is preparing 2,843 job vacancies through a labour-intensive programme as an effort to assist residents affected by economic pressures. This programme is specifically dedicated to residents who hold a Jakarta identity card (KTP DKI Jakarta).

Chico Hakim, Special Staff to the Governor and Vice Governor of Jakarta for Public Communication, stated that holding a KTP DKI Jakarta is the primary requirement for the programme. “The main requirement is simply having a KTP DKI Jakarta. This is the single requirement emphasised by the Governor to ensure this programme serves as a social buffer for Jakarta residents impacted by economic pressure,” Chico told reporters on Saturday (6/6/2026).

Chico explained that a total of 2,843 vacancies have been prepared by the Jakarta Provincial Government through this labour-intensive programme. Participants will receive wages equivalent to the Jakarta Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP), amounting to Rp 5.7 million per month.

The programme will run for an initial period of three months. The Jakarta Provincial Government will conduct an evaluation before deciding whether the programme will be extended.

Currently, Chico noted that the programme is still in the technical finalisation stage by the relevant departments. Consequently, details regarding the types of work, placement locations, and registration mechanisms have not yet been officially announced.

According to him, the work within the labour-intensive programme generally includes physical activities and supporting tasks needed by the community. These include environmental cleaning, area arrangement, simple infrastructure repairs, and similar activities spread across various regions of Jakarta. “Full details regarding specific job fields, priority locations, and registration mechanisms will be officially announced soon through the Jakarta Provincial Government’s channels, including official websites, social media, and mass media,” he added.
