2,500 Hanania Travel Fraud Victims Demand Rp 100 Billion Refund

JAKARTA — 2,500 Hanania Travel fraud victims demand Rp 100 billion refund, arguing that prison sentences alone are insufficient. The demand was conveyed through their lawyer, Joddy Mulyasetya Putra. ‘Many victims have suffered losses amounting to Rp 100 billion,’ Joddy said during a press conference in Tebet, South Jakarta, on Monday (1 June 2026). Joddy stressed that the case should not be resolved solely through criminal proceedings, unlike the First Travel case. ‘We urge the police and prosecutors to ensure victims receive restitution and compensation to recover all their losses,’ he added. A civil legal action is also being pursued to secure compensation for the victims. He also called on PPATK (Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre) to trace the Rp 100 billion fund flows. Police and PPATK have been asked to investigate Nisa, wife of Farhan, who serves as a commissioner and shareholder of PT Hazanah Tama Internasional, or Hanania Travel. ‘We request a thorough check of where the funds have gone—whether confined to the company or directed to Farhan personally or others. Please assist victims in tracing these funds,’ he said. Meanwhile, Joddy criticised the Ministry of Religious Affairs for not issuing any statement on the case. He noted that the ministry had been monitoring the case and mediated between victims and the travel agency from the outset. ‘If it has been under surveillance since the beginning, why has the Ministry of Religious Affairs not issued any statement to support the victims? At the very least, to reassure them with clear statements,’ Joddy stated.
