2,172 UIN Palu Students Receive Berani Cerdas Scholarships
Palu (ANTARA) - The Central Sulawesi provincial government states that 2,172 students at the State Islamic University (UIN) Datokarama Palu have benefited from the Berani Cerdas scholarship programme.
Head of the Central Sulawesi Education Office, Firmanza, in Palu on Monday, said the programme is part of the local government’s efforts to broaden access to education and improve the quality of human resources (HR).
“This programme not only focuses on providing scholarships to students but also encompasses various strategic interventions to enhance the overall quality of education,” she stated.
She conveyed this during the 46th Graduation Ceremony for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees at UIN Datokarama in Palu, Central Sulawesi.
She noted that out of approximately 23,000 beneficiaries, 2,172 are students from UIN Datokarama Palu, with a total budget of around Rp4.8 billion.
Furthermore, she explained that the Berani Cerdas programme also includes regional school operational assistance (BOSDA), uniform aid for underprivileged students, and support for industrial work practices for vocational high school (SMK) students.
In 2025, the Central Sulawesi provincial government has disbursed around Rp40 billion in school operational assistance to 463 public and private schools. Additionally, uniform assistance for students from low-income families has been realised at around Rp6 billion.
Firmanza stated that the Berani Cerdas programme is one of nine flagship programmes of the Central Sulawesi provincial government aimed at promoting inclusive and sustainable regional development.
Firmanza added that the provincial government is reopening registrations for the Berani Cerdas scholarship programme, including for Master’s (S2), Doctoral (S3), and specialist education programmes.
“This year, we are opening programmes for S2, S3, and specialists with limited quotas: around 100 people for S2, 22 for S3, and 10 for specialists in specific majors that have been mapped according to needs,” she said.
She emphasised that the Central Sulawesi provincial government is committed to ensuring equitable access to education and improving the effectiveness of aid distribution to ensure it is on target and sustainable.
