2.1 Million Vehicles Return to Jabotabek by H+4 of Eid al-Fitr

The President Director of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, Rivan A. Purwantono, stated that the traffic volume returning to the Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabotabek) area from H-10 to H+4 of the Eid al-Fitr 1447H holiday, or the period from 11 to 25 March 2026, reached 2,165,081 vehicles.

This figure is the cumulative traffic flow from four main toll gates (GT): GT Cikampek Utama from the Trans Java direction, GT Kalihurip Utama from the Bandung direction, GT Cikupa from the Merak direction, and GT Ciawi from the Puncak direction.

“These 2.1 million vehicles returning to the Jabotabek area represent 63.79% of the total projected 3.39 million vehicles expected to return during the 11–31 March 2026 period,” said Rivan.

The distribution of returning traffic to Jabotabek from three directions shows the majority at 967,121 vehicles or 44.7% from the East Trans Java and Bandung direction, 666,567 vehicles or 30.8% from the Merak direction, and 531,393 vehicles or 24.5% from the Puncak direction.

The detailed distribution includes vehicles returning to Jabotabek from the Trans Java direction via GT Cikampek Utama on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, numbering 491,285 vehicles, an increase of 18.1% from normal traffic.

Then, vehicles returning from the Bandung direction via GT Kalihurip Utama on the Cipularang Toll Road, numbering 475,836 vehicles, an increase of 0.7% from normal traffic.

“The total returning traffic to Jabotabek from the Trans Java and Bandung directions via these two GTs is 967,121 vehicles, an increase of 8.8% from normal traffic,” explained Rivan.

Next, vehicles returning from the Merak direction via GT Cikupa on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road totalled 666,567 vehicles, 3.3% lower than normal traffic.

Meanwhile, the number of vehicles returning from the Puncak direction via GT Ciawi on the Jagorawi Toll Road was 531,393 vehicles, an increase of 1.0% from normal traffic.

Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A. Purwantono explained that the traffic volume returning to the Jabotabek area on H+4 of Eid al-Fitr 1447H/2026 (Wednesday, 25 March 2026) reached 206,243 vehicles, an increase of 55.8% compared to normal (132,342 vehicles). The highest increase in vehicle numbers was recorded at GT Cikampek Utama, with 75,837 vehicles, up 194.3% from normal traffic.

“We again remind the public to take advantage of the 30% toll discount programme applicable on nine strategic Jasa Marga Group routes,” he said.

The programme is in effect today from 26 March 2026 to 27 March 2026 with a continuous journey scheme, expected to encourage more even traffic distribution.

Rivan also reminded drivers of vehicles with three or more axles to comply with the Joint Decree (SKB) of the Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, the National Police Traffic Corps Chief, and the Director General of Road Infrastructure of the Ministry of Public Works dated 5 February 2026 on Traffic Regulation and Crossing During the Eid Exodus and Return Flow Period for 2026/1447H, regarding restrictions on goods vehicle operations, including not passing during designated times from 13 to 29 March 2026.

Rivan also urged the public travelling for family visits or returning to the Jabotabek area via toll roads to ensure travel readiness, including ensuring the driver’s and vehicle’s condition is optimal and roadworthy, preparing provisions, ensuring sufficient fuel, and electronic money balance.

A total of 327,646 passengers have returned to Java Island from Sumatra Island during the 22 to 25 March 2026 period.

The KM Nggapulu, carrying 2,483 returnees, arrived at Ahmad Yani Port, with the largest number of passengers from Ambon, namely 1,800 returnees.

Several returnees chose to head to Jakarta on 25 March 2026 or H+3 of Eid al-Fitr to avoid congestion.

A total of 24,986 returning vehicles heading to Jakarta passed through GT Banyumanik up to H+3 of Eid by 15:00 WIB.

PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) recorded 101,774 vehicles leaving Semarang via Kalikangkung Toll Gate, up 112.03%.
