1.9m tons of coal exported

JAKARTA (JP): State-owned coal producer PT Tambang Batubara
Bukit Asam said on Monday it had exported 1.9 million tons of
coals this year.

The company president, R. Sunardi, said the exported portion
represented only 18 percent of its annual output of 10.5 million
tons.

Most of its output is sold to local independent power
producers to generate electricity.

Sunardi said the company exported a portion of its output to
earn better revenue as export prices of coal were better than
local prices.

He said most coal exports went to Malaysia and Thailand. (29)
