1996 tax notices sent out

JAKARTA (JP): The 1996 property tax notice, known as a SPPT- PBB, has been sent to most subdistricts in the capital.

In a written statement to The Jakarta Post, Wahab Rachmatsjah, head of the City Revenue Office, said 808,677 notices were sent out between March 25 and May 8. These notices cover tax payers living in 39 of the city's 43 districts. Notices will be sent to the remaining four district offices of Cipayung, Ciracas, Pesanggrahan and Jagakarsa between May 24 and June 7.

Wahab emphasized that taxpayers are not required to pay for the delivery of the notices. Taxpayers are encouraged to promptly pay their assessments at the banks cited in the notices.

Those who have not received their notice are advised to contact their subdistrict office. People who have never received a notice are urged to contact their local tax service office.
