199,011 Mudik Passengers Have Crossed to Sumatra via 3 Banten Ports

PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry has recorded 199,011 passengers crossing to Sumatra from three ports in Banten during the Eid 2026 mudik exodus. The data shows that 49,026 vehicles have crossed during this period.

“The total number of passengers crossing from Java to Sumatra through Merak Port, Ciwandan Port, and BBJ Bojonegara from H-10 to H-7 reached 199,011 people, representing a 1.9% decrease compared to the same period last year which recorded 202,791 passengers,” said ASDP Indonesia Ferry Chief Executive Officer Heru Widodo on Sunday, 15 March 2026.

Meanwhile, the number of vehicles crossing totalled 49,026 units. This figure showed an increase compared to the previous year.

“The total vehicles that have crossed stands at 49,026 units, or up 5.7% compared to the same period last year which recorded 46,393 units,” he stated.

On 14 March 2026, which was H-7 (seven days before) Eid, 164 ferry trips were operated. The number of passengers reached 72,735 people, up 52.7% compared to last year’s 47,630 passengers.

Two-wheeled motorcycles that crossed on H-7 reached 2,756 units, an increase of 30.3% compared to last year’s 2,115 units.

Four-wheeled cars reached 10,365 units, up 73.8% compared to 5,963 units in the same period last year. The total number of trucks crossing reached 3,352 units, up 95% compared to 1,719 units in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, the total number of buses crossing reached 594 units, up 17.6% compared to 505 units in the same period last year.

“The total number of all vehicles crossing from Java to Sumatra through Merak Port, Ciwandan Port, and BBJ Bojonegara on H-7 stood at 17,067 units, up 65.7% compared to the same period last year which recorded 10,302 units,” he added.
