190 Pertamina Petrol Stations Now Selling Fuel with 5% Ethanol Blend (E5)

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has recorded that 190 Petrol Stations (SPBU) are now providing petrol with a 5% bioethanol blend, known as E5, through its Pertamax Green 95 product.

The President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Mars Ega Legowo Putra, stated that Pertamax Green, which was launched in 2023, is a fuel product containing 5% bioethanol.

“For the distribution of bioethanol, we currently distribute it through the Pertamax Green product. Therefore, this Pertamax Green product contains 5% bioethanol. We launched Pertamax Green in 2023, and currently, there are 190 petrol stations providing Pertamax Green services,” said Mars Ega during a Hearing (RDP) with Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) on Tuesday (8/9/2026).

According to him, the sales of Pertamax Green have shown a positive trend. From the beginning of 2025 until August 2026, sales of the product increased by 267%.

When looking at average daily sales, the increase even reached 446%. This growth in sales has been accompanied by the expansion of Pertamax Green outlets.

“This sales trend is balanced by the increased distribution of Pertamax Green outlets. Currently, Pertamax Green outlets are still concentrated on Java island because we will continue to develop and coordinate with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), particularly regarding the sourcing or the bioethanol providers,” he said.

He detailed that of the 190 petrol stations providing Pertamax Green, 28 stations are in Banten, 40 in DKI Jakarta, 53 in West Java, 16 in Central Java, 6 in DIY (Yogyakarta), and 47 in East Java.

“The average daily sales of Pertamax Green is 132 kl per day. This is a significant increase because if we look at the beginning of January, it was still around 17 kl per day. Sales continue to increase, and this is a non-subsidised product that follows market prices with RON 95 quality,” he added.
