19 Students at SDN Sendangrejo, Blora, Suffer Food Poisoning from Free Nutritious Meal Programme

A total of 19 students at Sendangrejo State Primary School in Ngawen District, Blora Regency, suffered food poisoning after consuming meals from the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme on Monday, 20 July 2026. They were treated at the emergency department of the Ngawen Community Health Centre. Blora Regent Arief Rohman stated on Tuesday, 21 July 2026, that all students had returned home and no further symptoms had appeared during monitoring. He added that the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) supplying the meals to the school had temporarily ceased operations. The affected students comprised three from Year 3, seven from Year 4, eight from Year 5, and one from Year 6. According to a copy of the Blora District Health Office investigation report, the SPPG is managed by the Mitra Cendikia Waskita Foundation and had been distributing meals to 2,341 recipients. The menu served included white rice, eggs in yellow spice, stir-fried beans with carrots and baby corn, grapes, and packaged milk. The report concluded that the suspected cause of the poisoning was the consumption of milk that had not been stored properly.
