19 InJourney Airports Prepare Hajj Services Starting 22 April 2026
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia is preparing 19 airports to serve the departure of around 205,333 Hajj pilgrims heading to the Holy Land, scheduled to begin on 22 April 2026.
The CEO of InJourney Airports, Mohammad R. Pahlevi, stated that all embarkation and intermediate airports are ready to support the smooth process of Hajj pilgrim departures this year.
“Airport operational readiness, including facilities and personnel, to ensure the movement of aircraft and Hajj pilgrims at all Hajj embarkation and intermediate airports is prepared, and we continue to coordinate closely with all relevant parties,” Pahlevi said in an official statement on Saturday (18/4/2026).
This year, 14 airports managed by InJourney Airports have been designated by the government as Hajj embarkation points to handle pilgrim departures to the Holy Land.
Meanwhile, five airports serve as intermediate Hajj embarkation points or departure locations for pilgrims from their home cities to the main embarkation airports.
Yogyakarta International Airport is making its debut this year as a Hajj embarkation airport, serving pilgrim departures to the Holy Land.
Yogyakarta International Airport features a runway measuring 3,250 x 45 metres, supporting Hajj flights by Garuda Indonesia using wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft.
The 14 airports designated as Hajj embarkation points are: Yogyakarta International Airport, Soekarno-Hatta in Tangerang, Juanda in Surabaya, Adi Soemarmo in Solo, Kertajati in Majalengka, Sultan Hasanuddin in Makassar, Hang Nadim in Batam, Syamsuddin Noor in Banjarmasin, Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II in Palembang, Kualanamu in Deli Serdang, SAMS Sepinggan in Balikpapan, Zainuddin Abdul Madjid in Lombok, Sultan Iskandar Muda in Aceh, and Minangkabau in Padang.
Meanwhile, the airports serving as intermediate Hajj embarkation points are Fatmawati Soekarno in Bengkulu, Radin Inten II in Lampung, Depati Amir in Pangkalpinang, Sultan Thaha in Jambi, and Pattimura in Ambon.
“Sultan Hasanuddin Airport in Makassar is making the Mecca Route available for the first time, which is a Saudi immigration service. InJourney Airports fully supports this facility by providing the necessary infrastructure for the Mecca Route,” Pahlevi explained.
The Mecca Route is a Saudi immigration facility where passport checks are conducted earlier at the departure embarkation airport in Indonesia, thereby easing the process for Hajj pilgrims upon arrival at Jeddah or Madinah airports.
At the four airports with the Mecca Route, pre-departure security checks are conducted at the Hajj dormitories.
