19 defendants in Singapore baby-selling syndicate sentenced to three to seven years in prison
The Bandung District Court in West Java has handed down prison sentences to 19 defendants convicted in a baby trafficking syndicate that sold infants to Singapore. The verdicts were delivered on Tuesday, 21 July 2026. The syndicate’s mastermind, Lie Siu Luan, was sentenced to seven years in prison for her role as the ringleader in the human trafficking operation. The remaining 18 defendants received sentences ranging from three to six years. The case involved the trafficking of persons, specifically the illegal sale of babies across international borders.
