19 companies enliven Unhas Career Expo 2026
A total of 19 companies and institutions from various sectors, including banking, manufacturing, construction, services, and education, enlivened the Unhas Career Expo held at the JK Arenatorium Unhas Tamalanrea, Makassar, on 15-16 July 2026. The Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs at Hasanuddin University (Unhas), Prof Muhammad Ruslin, stated that the event was designed to broaden participants’ access to job opportunities, competency development, and further studies. The expo featured three main activities: a Career Fair, a Scholarship Exhibition, and a Career Seminar. “The presence of 19 industry partners at the 2026 Unhas Career Expo is an excellent opportunity for Unhas students and alumni to showcase their best qualities,” he said. Participating companies included PT. Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN), Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP), PT. Pegadaian, PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), Bank Danamon, and Wings Group, among others. He explained that the industrial world currently requires human resources capable of making a real contribution to a company’s progress. “These companies come with the hope of obtaining the best graduates who are ready to contribute from day one,” Prof Ruslin remarked. According to him, English language skills remain one of the competencies that graduates need to continuously strengthen. Unhas is constantly developing programmes to improve foreign language proficiency, particularly English, as a provision for students to enhance their competitiveness at both national and global levels. Generation Z needs to be equipped with resilience when entering the workforce. The ability to adapt to change, face challenges, and a willingness to keep learning are essential assets for building a sustainable professional career. Prof Ruslin invited all participants to make the most of the Unhas Career Expo as a space to build professional networks and gain a closer understanding of industry needs. He also expressed his appreciation to all the companies that participated in the event. “Make the most of this opportunity. Build communication with companies, demonstrate your competencies, and make the Career Expo the first step in building your professional career,” he said.
