1,800 Scouts in West Aceh Hold Torch Parade to Welcome Ramadan
This torch parade is a sign of our joy and readiness in welcoming the holy month of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah.
A total of 1,800 junior and senior high school students in West Aceh Regency participated in a torch parade organized by the West Aceh Scout Branch in Meulaboh to welcome the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah/2026.
“This torch parade is a sign of our joy and readiness in welcoming the holy month of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah,” said West Aceh Deputy Regent Said Fadheil in a statement received in Meulaboh on Sunday.
He said the torchlight shining in the hands of the Scout members not only illuminated the path they walked but also served as a symbol of spirit, unity, and the light of faith that must be continuously upheld in daily life.
Deputy Regent Said Fadheil said the parade is not merely an annual tradition but a moment to foster a sense of togetherness, strengthen brotherhood, and demonstrate that the younger generation of West Aceh is ready to welcome Ramadan with clean hearts and great enthusiasm.
The West Aceh Regency Government called on the community to use the torch parade as an opportunity to strengthen character, discipline, and responsibility, while creating an orderly, safe, and joyful atmosphere among the public.
The local government also invited all residents to continually maintain bonds of fellowship and strengthen Islamic brotherhood among one another, so that the worship performed during the holy month of Ramadan will always receive blessings from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala (SWT).
The West Aceh Regency Government thanked the West Aceh Scout Branch for continuing to actively organize positive, educational, and religiously meaningful activities like this.
“Let us welcome the holy month of Ramadan with a spirit of sincerity, so that God willing, we will all become more pious people,” said West Aceh Deputy Regent Said Fadheil.
