JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) together with the Ministry of Cooperatives (Kemenkop) is preparing manpower for the Red and White Village/Urban Village Cooperative programme, recruited from 18 million social aid recipient families (KPM).

Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf stated that Kemensos and Kemenkop are prioritising productive ages to become workers in Kopdes.

“To become workers, productive ages are certainly prioritised according to the capacity and ability of each recipient family. Later, we with the Ministry of Cooperatives will conduct mapping of the recipient families,” said Saifullah, at the Kemenkop Office, South Jakarta, on Monday (13/4/2026).

“For example, if they want to be a driver, there will certainly be training to become a driver; if it’s cleaning service, there is training so they understand how to work well as a cleaning service,” he added.

As a result of the meeting with Cooperatives Minister Ferry Juliantono, the mapping process for KPM will be carried out first before training.

“So everything after there is a mapping process, then there is a training process,” he said.

Meanwhile, for KPM who are less productive or elderly, they will be more optimised as cooperative participants.

“This is what is being prepared in the coming times, including mapping together with Kemenkop-Agrinas on what specifications are needed,” stated the Social Minister.
