174 nabbed in gambling raid

BANDUNG: Police here raided two gambling dens that had
recently been bombed by unidentified people on Jl. Braga 8,
Bandung, West Java.

At least 174 people, including gambling operators, were
rounded up and taken to the city police office for questioning
during the raid on Thursday night.

Bandung Police chief Sr. Comr. Sulistiyono said that only 17
of the arrested people were named suspects on gambling charges.

"We detained them based on Article 33 of the Criminal Code
that bans people from using gambling as an income source," he
