17 Victims of Bekasi KRL Accident Still Under Treatment, KAI: Full Support!
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) states that 17 victims of the accident between KA Argo Bromo Anggrek and the KRL Jakarta–Cikarang at Bekasi Timur Station are still undergoing intensive treatment at several hospitals.
KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin said his company continues to monitor the victims’ conditions and provide full support.
“Now, only 17 people are still being treated. And of course, we pray and always strive for the best so that our sisters can recover and return to full health,” Bobby said when met at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday (4/5/2026).
“Yes, we are providing full support for the injured victims. Our staff are always present 24 hours a day at the hospitals,” he added.
In addition, KAI is ensuring comprehensive handling for the deceased victims, including managing their rights up to the burial process.
“Not only that, for those who have passed away, we accompany them to the grave. And of course, we handle all the rights of the victims,” he stated.
As a form of respect, KAI also plans to build a memorial monument at the incident site to honour the victims.
“Then, we also want to build a monument here. Please support it,” Bobby said.
On the other hand, KAI is identifying high-risk level crossings to be closed as a preventive measure against similar accidents.
“There are more than 200 crossings that we will close soon. And we have categorised 235 locations that we will close as quickly as possible,” he said.
The incident resulted in 106 victims.
Sixteen people died after receiving treatment, while 90 others sustained injuries.
All 240 passengers of KA Argo Bromo Anggrek were reported safe.
The victims are being treated at several hospitals in the Bekasi area, including RSUD Bekasi, RS Bella Bekasi, RS Primaya, RS Mitra Plumbon Cibitung, RS Bhakti Kartini, RS Siloam Bekasi Timur, RS Hermina, as well as RS Mitra Keluarga Bekasi Timur and Barat.
