17 Umrah Pilgrims to Have Return Flights Rescheduled for 10 and 14 March 2026

JAKARTA – The Indonesian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, together with the Consulate General of Indonesia (KJRI) in Jeddah, announced that 17 umrah pilgrims have received rescheduled return dates to Indonesia following delays caused by Middle East conflicts.

Muhammad Ilham Effendy, Technical Staff for Hajj Affairs at the Jeddah consulate, stated that the office was monitoring and coordinating the return of several Indonesian umrah pilgrims whose flights had been rescheduled.

“On 8 March 2026, 17 pilgrims from PT BMA experienced flight rescheduling and are currently in Makkah. These pilgrims are scheduled to return to Indonesia on 10 and 14 March 2026,” said Ilham in a press statement on Monday (9 March 2026).

Through the Hajj Affairs Office (KUH) in Jeddah, the government facilitated communication and coordination with airlines, travel operators, and relevant authorities to ensure the smooth departure of the pilgrims.

“The team on the ground continues to coordinate with airlines and travel operators to help ensure the pilgrims’ return process proceeds according to available flight schedules,” said Ilham.

Meanwhile, 67 pilgrims from PT RLW are still facing departure complications. Flight rescheduling is being processed by the relevant parties, with some pilgrims scheduled to return to Indonesia on 9 March 2026 via Ethiopian Airlines and Garuda Indonesia.

The KJRI Jeddah team also facilitated communication for five independent umrah pilgrims affected by the cancellation of the Madinah–Mumbai flight route.

So far, KJRI Jeddah is monitoring the return of 2,062 Indonesian umrah pilgrims, bringing the total number of returning pilgrims to 19,509 since 28 February to 8 March 2026. On 8 March, 434 new pilgrims arrived in Saudi Arabia from Indonesia.
