17 People Named as Suspects in Persipura vs Adhyaksa Riot in Jayapura

During the handling of the riot case between Persipura and Adhyaksa, investigators from the Jayapura Police Resort have detained 17 suspects for further investigation, said AKP Markus Axel Panggabean, head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Jayapura Police, as reported by detikSulsel on Tuesday, 19 May 2026.

The suspects are named by initials SPN, APM, ISO, MZW, OJW, RRW, BM, JMR, SEK, ABM, AM, TD, EW, LP, KY, DAW, and ANW. Panggabean said the suspects are alleged to have committed assault, vandalism, and arson of stadium facilities.

“The handling of the case is being carried out through a series of investigations into the perpetrators involved in the riot, assault, vandalism, theft, battery, and arson of facilities that occurred in the stadium area,” he said.

“During the process, the perpetrators voluntarily admitted their actions and settlements were carried out in accordance with the applicable law,” he added.

He noted that two cases were resolved through the restorative justice mechanism. This was done based on the agreement of both parties. The riot occurred following the Persipura vs Adhyaksa FC match on Friday, 8 May.
