Seventeen people were reported as victims of a fire at the Bulk LPG Filling Station (SPBE) in Cimuning, Bekasi, West Java, which occurred on Wednesday night (1/4). Bekasi City Metro Police Chief Commissioner Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro revealed that the burn conditions of the victims varied.

“Preliminary data shows 17 victims, with some having burns exceeding 50 percent,” stated Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro in Bekasi on Thursday (2/4).

He mentioned that several fire victims had returned home after receiving hospital treatment.

“Some victims have already left the hospital; according to our data, some are now on outpatient care,” he added.

Most of the Cimuning fire victims in Bekasi are residents from settlements close to the SPBE Cimuning. Meanwhile, two victims are employees at SPBE Cimuning.

Currently, the Forensic Laboratory (Labfor) team is involved in deepening the case to determine the cause of the Bekasi fire incident.

“We have also taken statements from witnesses,” said Kusumo.

The Cimuning fire resulted in losses including houses, rented rooms, shops, stalls, public facilities, and warehouses being burned.

According to Kusumo, this was because SPBE Cimuning is close to settlements and other buildings.

Preliminary suspicions from the police indicate that the explosion causing the Cimuning fire was likely due to a gas leak. (Ant/H-4)

Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional West Java (JBB), along with authorities, is currently conducting an in-depth investigation to confirm the triggering factors of the Indogas SPBE explosion.

The Bekasi City Government has ensured that it will cover all medical treatment and care costs for 14 victims of the fire at Pertamina’s Bulk LPG Filling Station (SPBE) in Cimuning, Bekasi.

The Bekasi City Fire and Rescue Department deployed 15 fire trucks to extinguish the fire that burned the SPBE and dozens of residents’ homes.

PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional West Java (JBB) has assured full responsibility for the impacts of the explosion and fire at the SPBE Cimuning area, Mustika Jaya, Bekasi City.

A massive fire engulfed the Bulk LPG Filling Station (SPBE) area on Cinyosog Street, Cimuning Village, Mustika Jaya Subdistrict, Bekasi City, on Wednesday night (1/4).
