17 Key Points of the New P2SK Law Aligned with Prabowo's Directives
Jakarta, VIVA – Finance Minister Purbability Yudhi Sadewa has revealed that there are 17 key points in the revision of the Law concerning Amendments to Law Number 4 of 2023 on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (P2SK). This revision is considered vital for stimulating national economic growth.
The Minister emphasised that three primary topics of change in the P2SK Law relate to institutional strengthening, specifically concerning the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and Bank Indonesia (BI). The subsequent topic involves the performance evaluation of BI, OJK, and LPS by the House of Representatives (DPR).
“These seventeen topics are essential for driving inclusive national economic growth, in accordance with the directives of President Prabowo Subianto,” stated Purbaya during the Plenary Session of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Jakarta on Thursday, 4 June 2026.
The fifth topic involves the expansion of the business scope for conventional and Sharia banking. The sixth pertains to the demutualisation of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). The seventh involves the regulation of margin transfers in financial market transactions.
The eighth point covers the issuance of Danantara debt securities (Patriot Bonds and Merah Putih Bonds). The ninth involves the regulation of insurance and Sharia insurance companies within resolution frameworks. The tenth concerns mandatory traffic accident insurance funds.
The eleventh point addresses the exchange for minerals and strategic commodities. The twelfth involves strengthening the regulation of crypto assets. The thirteenth pertains to the formation of a task force for the prevention and handling of online loans and online gambling.
The fourteenth point involves the establishment of the Indonesia International Financial Centre. The fifteenth involves the expansion of handling bad debts for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The sixteenth involves the investigation and inquiry of the financial services sector as well as restorative justice mechanisms. Finally, the seventeenth point focuses on strengthening the supervision and recovery of the banking sector to maintain financial system stability.
The ratification of the P2SK Law revision is also part of an effort to strengthen coordination between authorities in the financial sector to maintain national financial system stability. More adaptive regulations are deemed essential to face the dynamics of financial markets while increasing the competitiveness of Indonesia’s financial sector at both regional and global levels.
The Finance Minister expressed his appreciation to the DPR RI, particularly Commission XI, for their initiative and cooperation in the synergistic discussion of the Bill (RUU) to amend the P2SK Law alongside the government.
