17 Flights to Middle East from Cengkareng Cancelled
Seventeen flights from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Cengkareng to the Middle East were cancelled on Sunday, 1 March 2026. This cancellation resulted from the closure of airspace in several Middle Eastern countries following military strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran.
“As of the latest update, 17 flights have been confirmed as cancelled,” stated Aziz Fahmi Harahap, Acting Assistant Deputy for Communications and Legal Affairs at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, on Sunday, 1 March 2026.
According to data from route permits issued by relevant authorities and updates as of 10:00 WIB, a total of 39 Middle Eastern route flights were scheduled for that day, comprising 20 arrival flights and 19 departure flights. “This consists of 38 regular flights and 1 charter flight,” said Fahmi.
The route breakdown includes Abu Dhabi (AUH) with 3 flights, Doha (DOH) with 8 flights, Dubai (DXB) with 4 flights, Istanbul (IST) with 2 flights, Jeddah (JED) with 17 flights, and Madinah (MED) with 3 flights.
The 17 cancelled flights are detailed as follows:
Abu Dhabi Route (AUH):

• Etihad Airways EY472 (Arrival) – Cancelled
• Etihad Airways EY473 (Departure) – Cancelled
Doha Route (DOH):

• Qatar Airways QR955 (Departure) – Cancelled

Dubai Route (DXB):
• Emirates EK356 (Arrival) – Cancelled

By that time, one flight had already departed: Saudia Airlines SV827 to Jeddah, whilst three flights had landed: Lion Air JT115 from Jeddah, Saudia Airlines SV816 from Jeddah, and Garuda Indonesia GA969 from Madinah.
Fahmi assured the public that overall operations at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport remain safe, orderly, and conducive. “The schedule adjustments that have occurred represent follow-up actions in response to developments in the operational situation on Middle Eastern routes,” he said.
According to Fahmi, handling of affected passengers is being carried out in accordance with applicable regulations. This is being conducted through intensive coordination with relevant authorities, particularly with airlines for schedule updates and management of passengers already at the airport, with AirNav Indonesia to monitor conditions in affected airspace, and with security apparatus to anticipate and ensure airport security remains protected.
“We urge prospective passengers to continually monitor the latest information through official channels of their respective airlines and to confirm flight status before heading to the airport. Additionally, information can also be obtained through the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Contact Centre at 172 for the latest updates,” said Fahmi.
