Operations at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, proceeded smoothly on Sunday, 1 March, despite flight schedule adjustments on Middle East routes following military operations by Israel and the United States against Iran.

Based on route authorisation data issued by relevant authorities and updates as of 10:00 local time, a total of 39 Middle East route flights were scheduled that day. The breakdown comprised 20 arrival flights and 19 departure flights, consisting of 38 regular flights and one charter flight.

Route details included Abu Dhabi (AUH) with three flights, Doha (DOH) with eight flights, Dubai (DXB) with four flights, Istanbul (IST) with two flights, Jeddah (JED) with 17 flights, and Madinah (MED) with three flights. However, by the latest update, 17 flights were confirmed as cancelled.

On the Abu Dhabi route, three Etihad Airways flights were cancelled: EY474 (arrival), EY472 (arrival), and EY473 (departure). For the Doha route, six flights were cancelled, namely Qatar Airways QR958 (arrival), Garuda Indonesia GA901 (arrival), Qatar Airways QR956 (arrival), Qatar Airways QR955 (departure), QR959 (departure), and QR957 (departure).

On the Dubai route, four Emirates flights were also cancelled: EK356 (arrival), EK358 (arrival), EK359 (departure), and EK357 (departure).

Two Saudia Airlines flights on the Jeddah route, namely SV822 (arrival) and SV823 (departure), were cancelled. Similarly, two flights on the Madinah route, SV820 (arrival) and SV821 (departure), were also cancelled.

Meanwhile, one flight had already departed—Saudia Airlines SV827 bound for Jeddah. Three flights had landed: Lion Air JT115 from Jeddah, Saudia Airlines SV816 from Jeddah, and Garuda Indonesia GA969 from Madinah.

At Soekarno-Hatta Airport, check-in counters at Terminal 3, which typically handle busy Middle East route services, were closed on Sunday, 1 March afternoon.

Airport management assured that operations remained safe, orderly, and conducive. Schedule adjustments were attributed to developments in the operational situation on Middle East routes.

“Handling of affected passengers is carried out in accordance with applicable regulations through intensive coordination with the relevant airlines regarding schedule updates and passenger services at the airport,” said Acting Assistant Deputy for Communication and Legal Affairs at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Aziz Fahmi Harahap.

Coordination was also conducted with AirNav Indonesia to monitor airspace conditions, along with security authorities to ensure the situation remained under control.

“We urge prospective passengers to continuously monitor the latest information through their respective airlines’ official channels and to reconfirm their flight status before heading to the airport,” he added.
