17,000 Bottles of Illegal Liquor Destroyed in Serang
The Serang City Police (Polresta Serang Kota) have destroyed 17,618 bottles of illegal alcoholic beverages (miras). The liquor was seized from a rented house used as an unlicensed storage warehouse.
The destruction was led by the Head of Serang City Police, Kombes Yudha Satria, at the Serang City Police Headquarters on Wednesday (29/4/2026). The event was also attended by the Forkopimda of Serang City, the Chairman of the Serang Regency DPRD, Bahrul Ulum, religious figures, and related agencies.
The evidence destroyed consisted of various types of alcoholic drinks, including beer, vodka, and wine from different brands. In total, the number of seized liquor bottles amounted to 17,618.
“This activity is a form of the Indonesian National Police’s commitment to maintaining public order and security, particularly in eradicating the circulation of illegal alcoholic beverages in the jurisdiction of Serang City,” he stated.
According to Yudha, the liquor was the result of a seizure by the Serang City Police during a raid on a rented house in Cilowong Village, Taktakan Subdistrict, Serang City, in September 2025.
“The Serang City Police received a report from the public regarding the storage of alcoholic beverages without a business permit,” he said.
The liquor belonged to a man with the initials EA (32). The owner has undergone a minor criminal offence (tipiring) trial at the Serang District Court and the verdict has become legally binding.
“The court decided that the evidence should be destroyed,” said Yudha.
