1,630 houses for people in Papua

JAYAPURA, Papua: The government plans to build 1,630 houses for people in seven regencies in Papua, including Jayapura, Nabire, Serui, Manokwari, Fakfak, Sorong and Timika.

Developer of the housing development Umar AJ Alkatiri said on Monday that the project would require Rp 27.8 billion (US$2.9 million) from the state and provincial budget.

The houses are to improve the standard of living of local people. --Antara
