162 Inmates at Bima State Detention Centre Proposed for Eid al-Fitr 2026 Remission
Bima State Detention Centre (Rutan) Class IIB in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has proposed 162 inmates (napi) to receive special remission on Eid al-Fitr 2026. The proposed inmates receiving sentence reduction come from various cases, ranging from general criminal offences, narcotics, to corruption.
Head of Bima State Detention Centre Class IIB, Tajudinur, stated that the number of inmates currently serving sentences at Bima Rutan totals 225 people. The breakdown comprises 167 people involved in narcotics cases, two people in corruption cases, 39 people in child protection cases, and 17 people in general criminal cases.
“The 225 inmates represent the total number from 477 residents currently at Bima Rutan. The remaining 252 have the status of detainees awaiting trial,” he stated when confirmed by detikBali on Monday (9/3/2026).
Tajudinur explained that some of the 225 inmates have been proposed to receive special Eid al-Fitr 2026 remission. The proposed sentence reduction is divided into two categories: special remission (RK I) and special remission for specific criminal offences in accordance with Government Regulation (PP) Number 99 of 2012.
“In total, there are 162 inmates proposed to receive special Eid al-Fitr remission this year,” he said.
For special remission (RK I) for inmates convicted of general criminal offences, 127 people have been proposed to receive sentence reduction. The amount of remission proposed varies, ranging from 15 days to two months.
“44 inmates are proposed to receive 15 days remission. One month remission for 75 inmates. One month 15 days for seven inmates and two months for one inmate,” he stated.
Additionally, special Eid al-Fitr 2026 remission for specific criminal offences has been proposed for 35 inmates. They comprise 34 inmates convicted of narcotics cases and one inmate convicted of a corruption case.
“The amount of remission to be obtained is 15 days for two inmates and one month for 33 inmates,” Tajudinur explained.
Tajudinur emphasised that not all inmates at Bima Rutan can be proposed for holiday remission. Proposed inmates must meet several administrative requirements, including maintaining good conduct during their sentence.
“For inmates proposed to receive Eid al-Fitr 2026 remission, none will be directly released,” he stressed.
